Amongst various mobile platforms available on the market today, I still prefer the simplicity of the Palm OS GUI and choose it to all other options. The term GUI, for those of you whom aren't geeky, is an acronym for Graphical User Interface; essentially the “stuff” you see on your screen when you interact with an operating system; icons, menus, navigation, etc. The Palm interface just works, and has done its job with great zeal since 1997. That's not to say that other platforms like Windows Mobile and Symbian are garbage. But there is something to be said for elegant design. A Casio watch works every bit as good as a Rolex, but the latter looks better on your wrist. So to is the case with Palm OS. It offers a clean, simple navigation metaphor that gets you to the data you want without having to rely on mangled menuing systems.
